Large-span space-truss canopy - Maranello (MO)

In Maranello (MO), at the heart of a world-renowned automotive district, Studio Capoferri handled the structural design of a steel canopy covering two prefabricated buildings within a paint shop facility for a luxury car manufacturing plant.

The canopy has a clear span of about 40 metres. The structure is defined by a single space truss made of circular hollow sections, chosen also for the overall aesthetic quality.

Particular attention was given to lifting and erection phases, integrating construction requirements into the design choices from the outset.

  • Large clear span - about 40 metres without intermediate supports between the two buildings.
  • Single space truss - spatial geometry in circular hollow-section tubes.
  • Lifting and erection - construction requirements integrated into the design from the early stages.
  • Aesthetic quality - profiles and finish consistent with a high-performance paint shop facility.
